Cooking dinner is a challenge but cooking a buffet dinner for a party can be doubly intimidating. Hosting a party is a lot of work, so this article will provide five easy beef recipes – meaning that you can spend more time setting up the party and interacting with your guests.

Each of these recipes is simple to prepare and features high-quality Australian beef. Whether you are cooking beef steaks, tacos, skewers, or meatballs, there are simple and quick recipes here for every level of chef.

Mexican Style Beef Tacos

Beef rump is a lesser chosen cut of meat. A high-quality rump roast, however, can make a delicious meal if you know how to cook it well. To make rump roast tacos, start by slicing the rump roast into long strips. Be sure to use a sharp knife, as a dull knife with toughening the meat. Season the strips with salt, pepper, chilli powder, and Mexican seasonings. In a large stainless-steel pan or wok, sauté garlic and oil for a minute before adding the beef.

Add hot sauce or teriyaki marinade while beef is cooking. Stir consistently to make sure beef is evenly cooked. Rump roast strips cook quickly, so watch them carefully. Once they are cooked, remove the strips to cool and mix shredded cabbage, carrot mix, avocado chunks, and lime juice in a big bowl. Serve beef and vegetable mix on tortillas.

Beef Satay Skewers

Another great usage of rump roast is beef satay skewers. These are the best grilled outside. Skewer chunks of rump steak with alternating beef chunks, tomatoes, and capsicum. If you use wooden or bamboo skewers for this recipe, soak them in cold water for several minutes before grilling.

This will keep the skewers from burning and disintegrating into the food. Brush the skewers with satay sauce, reserving some. Grill for five to ten minutes, basting occasionally with remaining sauce. These go well with couscous as a side or sticky rice. Serve with your side of choice as well as salad. Make sure to have extra satay sauce on the table as well.

Grilled Porterhouse Steak

Another great grilling recipe makes use of porterhouse steaks. These are best marinated in garlic with olive oil, rosemary, salt, and pepper for several hours before grilling. While marinating, prepare vegetables to be grilled. These can be anything you prefer, from capsicums, bell peppers, potatoes, yams, zucchinis, or something else.

Begin grilling the steaks and add the vegetables during the last few minutes of the grilling process, otherwise, they will burn. Pile each plate with a hefty portion of the grilled vegetables – these will act as a bed and side for the steaks. Slice the steaks and lay them out nicely on the vegetables. Finally, dress with the combination of lemon juice, olive oil, and herbs – to taste.

Classic Italian Beef Meatballs

This next recipe is a two-for-one as it can be taken in two different directions once the beef is prepared. To start, mix ground beef or ground chuck with eggs, breadcrumbs, salt, and pepper, then form into golf ball-sized meatballs.

If you wish to turn this into a classic Italian dish, pan fry these meatballs in olive oil and add to a dish of pasta dressed with a simple marinara sauce. If you want a healthier kick, add vegetables to your dish.

Teriyaki Beef With Rice

Using the same meatball process above with any ground and less lean beef, you can create a spicy dinner. For an Asian-inspired dish, sauté these meatballs in soy sauce with garlic and ginger. Add brown sugar and your hot sauce of choice to this mixture.

To thicken this sauce, mix corn starch or potato starch with cold water. Add this slurry to the sauce and it will become much thicker. Cook udon noodle or rice to serve with these meatballs. Dress with green onion.
